In Bandar Saujana Putra, Kuala Langat, nearly 200 chairs and 60 tables were seized from an eatery in an operation by Kuala Langat Municipal Council . A total of 11 commercial premises were also inspected in the operation that involved areas in SPU, SP1, SP4 and SP5. In a media statement, MPKL said action was taken under Section 46 of Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974 for causing obstruction. “Business owners are advised not to occupy parking bays without approval, to avoid inconveniencing motorists and road users,” it added. In Gombak, Selayang Municipal Council worked with Road Transport Department and district police in a similar operation, targeting areas in Taman Tun Teja, Taman Velox and Jalan Besar Sungai Tua.Some 30 compounds were issued by JPJ and five by MPS for various traffic and business-related offences, said the local council in a media statement. In a separate MPS operation, the council carried out four seizures involving unlicensed businesses by foreigners offering massage services. “MPS will continue to work with other enforcement agencies to implement laws and ensure public orderliness,” it added in the statement. Last month, Subang Jaya City Council took action against proprietors who “reserved” parking bays along Jalan PJS 11/24 and PJS 11/7 following complaints from locals.The public can lodge their complaints at www.mbsj.gov.my/ms/saluran-aduan or via MPKL Enforcement Department WhatsApp at 019-220 7823.
