Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized this commitment, highlighting the success of initiatives like the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which has garnered significant interest from both Singapore and international investors.
Anwar elaborated on the government's plans to foster regional growth, citing a collaboration with Thailand that aims to develop the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia (Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu) alongside the four southern provinces of Thailand. He underscored the progress made thus far, mentioning two meetings already held and an upcoming appointment on February 18 to solidify the framework for this shared development.Furthermore, Anwar outlined the government's strategic focus on Sarawak as an energy hub for the ASEAN region.
