Aveta introduces the Vanguard 250, a Malaysian-tested Adventure-Touring-Crossover scooter, offering both on and off-road capabilities. The Vanguard 250 comes in two variants: Standard and SE, with differing suspension, features, and specifications.
The 2025 Aveta Vanguard 250 scooter has arrived in Malaysia , priced at RM14,488 for the Standard Variant and RM16,388 for the SE version. The Vanguard 250 is available in Nano Grey for the Standard and Majestic Green and Titanium Grey for the SE. Based on the Piaggio Nexus 250 platform, the Vanguard underwent a rigorous 20,000 km endurance test on Malaysia n roads before its public release.
Aveta describes the Vanguard as an ATC (Adventure-Touring-Crossover) scooter, engineered for adventure-touring with off-road capabilities. It boasts high ground clearance, robust suspension, and an ergonomic seat.Powering the Vanguard is a SOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve engine with a displacement of 244.2 cc, fed by Bosch EFI. This engine generates 24.8 hp at 8,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 22.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a CVT transmission and belt drive. Distinguishing features between the Standard and SE versions lie in the suspension and specifications. The Vanguard 250 Standard comes equipped with 33 mm diameter front telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers, while the SE features 37 mm diameter forks and twin shock absorbers with remote gas reservoirs. Both models share the same braking system, consisting of 260 mm front brake discs with floating calipers and 240 mm discs with floating calipers at the rear. However, the SE upgrades to opposed four-piston calipers at the front and two-piston calipers at the rear. Two-channel ABS and traction control are standard equipment for both variants. The Vanguard 250 Standard is fitted with 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels, shod in 120/70 and 140/60 tires respectively. The SE model features a 15-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear wheel, wearing 120/70 and 140/70 tires. The Standard boasts a monochrome LCD instrument panel, while the SE receives a 7-inch TFT-LCD unit with smartphone mirroring via the Aveta app. The Vanguard SE also includes tire pressure monitoring and a front DVR recorder as standard features.Fuel capacity for the Vanguard is a 13-liter tank, with a listed weight of 177 kg and 160 mm of ground clearance.
