PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has slammed Lim Guan Eng for spinning stories linking Umno and PAS over the alleged call to boycott non-Muslim products.
He also criticised the DAP secretary-general for saying that MCA and MIC continued to back Umno and PAS despite the alleged boycott call.
“I asked him myself, and he said Umno was not behind it. If his own party had organised such a boycott, why would he deny it? In the video, Dr Wee also said that it was an individual’s prerogative if they want to buy halal products from traders they trust. He also warned Lim not to “make up stories”, as he has already issued a statement about the boycott earlier.
