A 30-year-old man, whose vehicle was hijacked by the Setia City Mall shooter, shares his harrowing experience of being held captive for 45 minutes. The incident occurred as the mall was evacuated due to the shooting. The car owner and his family were forced to drive the suspect away from the location, eventually being released on the KESAS highway.
It was reported that the shooter involved in the incident at Setia City Mall , Selangor , had escaped by stopping a vehicle and forcing the driver to drive him away from the location and drop him off on the KESAS highway.
“My family and I faced a terrifying 45-minute ordeal in the car with the man, who pointed a gun at me and ordered me to leave the shopping mall in Setia Alam on the day of the incident,” he said. “The security guard ordered us all to leave immediately. At that time, I did not know what exactly happened. I immediately took my family out and when I was about to go to the parking lot, I heard an explosion. At first, I thought it was a collision which sounded like an explosion,”
When they got to the car park, he noticed many cars moving at high speed. That’s when the shooter appeared and pointed a gun at them, before getting into the car’s back seat.
