PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia 's Anti- Corruption Commission ( SPRM ) detained eight individuals, including a government agency director and three directors of other companies, suspected of being involved in the approval of commercial vehicle license s. According to sources, all suspects, aged between 30 and 50, were arrested at various locations in Malacca and the Klang Valley. The arrests were made during Operation Loader conducted by the SPRM Intelligence Division between 9 am and 12 pm today.
Sources said all suspects were suspected of being involved in obtaining letters of approval for Commercial Vehicle Licenses (LKP) from an agency. This was done without meeting the requirements set by the Ministry of Transport. The company is believed to have colluded with officials of the agency by providing false information to obtain letters of approval for new LKP Class Driver's License applications. Sources said they were paid around RM3,500 for each application. The company allegedly assisted individuals in forging documents such as bank statements and managing the application process, including Letters of Approval (STK) and Extended Validity Letters (SKLU) to enable the vehicles to undergo pre-inspection checks. According to SPRM intelligence, bribes ranged from RM3,000 to RM20,000 depending on the type and age of the vehicle and the company's ability to obtain LKP. Meanwhile, SPRM Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya, when contacted, confirmed the arrests of all suspects. He said the case was being investigated under Section 16 and 17 of the SPRM Act 2009. All suspects will be brought before the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court tomorrow for remand application proceedings. - UTUSA
