The Education Ministry asserts that the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) exams will not be postponed due to the current floods in Malaysia.
JERTIH: The Education Ministry is confident that the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM ) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia ( STPM ) examinations will not be postponed due to the ongoing Northeast Monsoon floods, as they have a comprehensive mechanism to address any issues faced by students during this period. Minister of Education was quoted after surveying the cleanup process at a flood-affected secondary school in Hulu Besut, Terengganu.
He stated that the ministry is prepared for the annual monsoon season and that the examination schedules have been arranged considering the possibility of floods. Postponement could affect university admissions, he noted. The ministry is also identifying damage at 132 flood-hit schools across the country, with only one school still waterlogged, and 28 others in need of post-flood cleanup
