The first day of the oral examination for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2024 proceeded smoothly in flood-affected states including Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. The ministry has moved into the second phase of Operation Payung focusing on providing emotional support and reassurance to candidates. In Terengganu, 1,734 affected candidates successfully took the Malay Oral Test examination scheduled from Monday to Thursday.
PASIR MAS: The first day of the oral examination for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia 2024 proceeded smoothly in all flood-affected states including Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah, says Fadhlina Sidek.
"The ministry is now entering the second phase, focusing on providing emotional support, reassurance and ensuring that the candidates are mentally prepared to tackle the examination," she said here on Monday . The Terengganu state Education Department director , Jelani Sulong, said a total of 1,734 affected candidates successfully took the Malay Oral Test examination scheduled from Monday to Thursday.
He said that 1,155 flood-affected candidates had been relocated to eight hostels, while 261 candidates that were previously relocated to temporary relief centres had returned home as the flood situation gradually improved.
