The Malaysian Ministry of Education will be opening 17 new schools across the country in 2023, including eight primary and nine secondary schools. The move aims to improve access to education and alleviate overcrowding issues, particularly in urban areas. This initiative comes after the 2025 budget allocated a record RM64.1 billion to the Ministry of Education, with RM2 billion dedicated to upgrading and maintaining schools nationwide.
PETALING JAYA: Sebanyak 17 sekolah baharu dijangka mula beroperasi pada tahun ini bagi meningkatkan akses pendidikan dan membantu isu sekolah pandat di kawasan bandar.
“Peningkatan jumlah sekolah yang beroperasi dapat meningkatkan akses pendidikan sekaligus membantu menangani isu sekolah padat yang dihadapi terutamanya di kawasan bandar. Sebelum ini, Belanjawan 2025 menyaksikan Kementerian Pendidikan menerima peruntukan sebanyak RM64.1 bilion berbanding RM58.7 bilion ringgit sebelumnya sekali gus menjadikan ia peruntukan tertinggi dalam sejarah.
