The Malaysian Ministry of Education (KPM) is investigating reports of private companies and syndicates offering loans to teachers through financial consultants in schools. While the KPM has not officially approved any such programs, Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek acknowledges that individuals within schools may have granted permission. She emphasizes the need for strict vetting of such organizations and urges school administrators, district educational offices, and state education departments to obtain official KPM approval before allowing any representatives to enter school premises. Fadhlina assures that the KPM is cooperating with authorities, including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM), to thoroughly investigate the matter and protect the welfare of educators.
