A chairman for a Chinese company has said that future GeForce RTX 50 Series laptops will be running on GDDR7 memory.

The launch of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50 Series are expected to launch later this year, with the alleged RTX 5080 expected to pave the way for the series, along with the new GDDR7 memory. Recently, an OEM partner of the GPU brand stated that the laptop variants, which are expected sometime in 2025, will also be fitted with the next generation memory standard.

The word, at least, according to the chairman of a Shenzhen-based Hasee Computer Co., is that NVIDIA is planning on fitting the PCBs of it RTX 50 Series laptop GPUs with GDDR7 memory, including what is rumoured to be the lower-tier RTX 5060. Mind you, this information was gleaned from the Weibo user Golden Pig. The post is in Chinese but base on the English translation by Google Translate, the information certainly tracks.

NVIDIA's Blackwell-based GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs are expected to built around TSMC's 3nm N3 process nodes, which comprises the N3E, N3P, and N3A. The foundry says that the new lithography should provide a 15% improvement over the 5nm process that is being used with the current RTX 40 Series GPUs. Not only that, but it is also expected to run on the PCIe 5.0 interface, which has been available for a while.
