Mandeep Singh, a former secretary of Bersih's committee, criticized Nooryana Najwa, daughter of former Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, for her comments on the government's restrictions on a pro-Najib rally. Singh pointed out that the government's use of road closures in Putrajaya was similar to the tactics used by Najib during his time in office to prevent demonstrations.
