Tourism Malaysia has introduced a charming new sun bear mascot, Wira and Manja, to represent the country's commitment to wildlife conservation and cultural diversity during Visit Malaysia 2026.

Tourism Malaysia recently introduced a sun bear mascot for Visit Malaysia 2026 . The pair of sun bears, named Wira (male) and Manja (female), has won hearts with their adorable looks. Wira and Manja were chosen as mascots to reflect the country's commitment to wildlife conservation , especially as the Malayan sun bear is an endangered species. Wira wears a batik sarong around his neck, while Manja sports a batik sash and a ribbon with the same pattern on her left ear.

The patterns and colors of the batik worn by the two bears were carefully chosen to represent the five major communities in Malaysia: Malay, Chinese, Indian, as well as the people of Sabah and Sarawak. Additionally, the 'Malaysia' inscription on the Visit Malaysia 2026 logo is inspired by traditional wood carvings, which also feature the national flower, the hibiscus. The popular tagline 'Truly Asia', introduced in 1999, has been retained but with slight changes to its design. It is understood that the special Visit Malaysia 2026 uniform will also be worn by three national airlines: Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Batik Air. The introduction of the sun bear mascot has certainly garnered attention among the general public. Cute! Several social media users have already inquired about products such as figurines, hats, batik ribbons, and keychains featuring the pair
