Malaysian singer Rax Teh is launching his Chinese New Year with a festive track and a fan meet in Hong Kong, reflecting on his journey through personal and professional challenges.
Local singer Rax Teh is embarking on a busy and exciting Chinese New Year , starting with the release of a festive collaboration track. The song, featuring fellow Malaysian talents Xair Pang, Andy Lau, Alan Seow, Ezen Chan, Zev Leong, Vincent Chin, and Tyrell Low, boasts a catchy melody, lively choreography, and a fun music video. Teh, 37, expressed his intention for the song to transcend generations, allowing listeners of all ages to enjoy and celebrate the festivities.
He shared that he prioritizes spending quality time with family during CNY, including attending gatherings and catching up with relatives. However, this year brings a special event as he prepares to travel to Hong Kong for a fan meet with his dedicated followers, the Dolphin Family.\Teh's journey to musical success has been marked by resilience and perseverance. Growing up in Penang, he was influenced by artists like Abba, Whitney Houston, and Jennifer Lopez, which fueled his passion for music. Despite the inherent uncertainties of the industry, he was determined to pursue his artistic aspirations. He emphasized his genuine love for music and his inability to envision himself in any other profession. His career faced a setback in 2009 when he was diagnosed with temporomandibular disorder, a condition that significantly impacted his ability to speak and sing. He credited his mother for her unwavering support and encouragement during this challenging period. She instilled in him a positive outlook and introduced him to an acupuncture specialist whose treatment played a crucial role in his recovery, enabling him to regain his voice and resume his musical endeavors. This highlights the importance of family support during trying times.\In recent years, Teh's career has seen significant momentum. He actively participated in the industry, collaborating on CNY releases and performing at various events. His popularity soared in 2025 following his participation in the third season of TVB's 'Midlife, Sing & Shine!' contest. Despite the mental challenges and intense pressure of the competition, including facing rejections and watching fellow contestants eliminated, Teh remained steadfast in his determination. He reflected on the lessons learned during his 11 months on the show, emphasizing the importance of continuous self-improvement and embracing risks. He highlighted that past mistakes do not define a person and that one should always strive for betterment. Last October, Teh celebrated a personal milestone by releasing his debut solo single, which has garnered over a million views on YouTube. This track, infused with an uplifting message of perseverance, serves as a testament to his passion for music and his commitment to encouraging others to pursue their dreams. Teh believes that every obstacle and competition has led him to this point, shaping his journey and solidifying his dedication to his craft
