Ranea Ezreen, initially aiming for a singing career, found unexpected success as an actress, particularly with her role as Dewi in the series Bidaah and its sequel Walid. She discusses the challenges of portraying a seductive character, her experience working with veteran actors, and her approach to controversial scenes, prioritizing professionalism and artistic integrity.

Ranea Ezreen initially aspired to be a singer, leading her to participate in Ceria Megastar Ministar in 2019. However, fate had other plans, as her acting career took off unexpectedly. Her portrayal of Dewi , a seductive young woman in the series Bidaah , captivated audiences, even garnering attention internationally. Ranea, or Nur Ranea Ezreen Luqman, 20, expresses her gratitude for heeding the call to audition for the role, initiated by renowned producer and director Erma Fatima .

Erma Fatima has once again placed her trust in Ranea Ezreen, solidifying her character, Dewi, in the sequel Walid, scheduled to air this Ramadan. “In Bidaah, Dewi's character was more laid-back and natural. However, in Walid, viewers will see a different side of Dewi – more flirtatious and whimsical, a stark contrast to my own personality,” she shared with Pancaindera. Portraying a character that demands a lively and seductive persona is no easy feat for the young actress. Yet, for Ranea, each role is a challenge to be embraced with professionalism, aiming to provide a satisfying experience for the audience. Furthermore, in the series Walid, Ranea participates in a daring scene, appearing partially clothed near a waterfall, her voice adding to the allure. Speaking about this particular scene, Ranea acknowledges its challenging nature, especially from a physical standpoint. Despite being aware that the scene might attract negative perceptions, Ranea chooses to view it from an artistic perspective and the demands of the script. In her view, as an actress, she must be bold in fulfilling her responsibilities, as long as it aligns with acceptable boundaries. Elaborating further, Ranea reveals that she wore protective undergarments beneath the traditional attire. “I wore a tube top and shorts beneath the batik cloth. The audience may not know, but my safety and dignity were still a priority. “Even in the real world and on my personal social media, I've occasionally worn just a tube top. So, for such scenes, I will ensure everything is well-taken care of. But when the audience watches, the scene still appears convincing. She is aware that in today's social media landscape, every move of an actor is scrutinized and judged by society. However, her primary focus remains on the quality of her acting and how effectively she can bring the script to life. Working on the series Walid also presents a golden opportunity for her to learn from veteran actors, including Faizal Hussein, Aqasha, Datuk A. Tamimi Siregar, and Vanidah Imran. “On my first day on set, my heart was racing. I felt so small in front of those who have already made a name for themselves. “But I am grateful because everyone provided guidance and remained humble, including Uncle Faizal. “Off set, Uncle Faizal treats me like his own daughter, but as soon as the camera starts rolling, we have to be professional,” Rania explains. Likewise, working with Erma, although known for her firmness on set, Rania considers this strictness as a valuable form of mentorship. “Mama Erma is very kind. Her firmness is to ensure that every scene produced is of high quality,” she concludes
