More and more foreign-language writing is being translated into English.

My apologies for not mentioning the translators’ names for all these books. Their contribution is huge. In June, having noticed that many more reviews of translated books were appearing,released a special issue devoted to their work. “The translator emerges as part expert, part curator and part magician,” theIt’s not only young novelists who are benefiting from this new interest.
It’s now common for English-language media outlets to put out Best Translated Books of the Year lists. I hope they will get longer every year.
