A lorry driver who was caught on video driving dangerously on a road in Malaysia has been arrested by police.
A lorry driver who went viral on social media after driving recklessly and dangerously on Jalan Seremban – Port Dickson, Mambau was arrested yesterday. Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said that his party had detected a 38-second viral video showing a red tipper lorry being driven recklessly and dangerously. The incident is believed to have occurred yesterday around 12.
16 pm on Jalan Seremban-Port Dickson, Mambau near Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Mambau. The suspect was successfully detected by a team of officers and members of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (JSPT) at the Seremban District Police Headquarters (IPD) and the driver, a man, was asked to come to the Seremban JSPT Office to assist in the investigation. Therefore, the driver, a 65-year-old man who claimed to be the lorry driver as shown in the viral video, was arrested along with his lorry at the Seremban IPD Traffic Station for investigation purposes. He said that the suspect was then taken to undergo urine screening and the results were negative. Following that, he said, the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 and further investigations are ongoing. - UTUSA
