Mohd. Safwan Abdul Samad, 29, pleaded guilty to stealing 12 Cadbury chocolate packs from a sundry shop in Pasar Seni on January 20th. Magistrate Farah Nabihah Muhammad Dan sentenced him to good behaviour for a year.

KUALA LUMPUR: Gara-gara mencuri coklat sebagai hadiah hari lahir adiknya, seorang penganggur diperintah berkelakuan baik selama setahun oleh Mahkamah Majistret di sini hari ini.

Mengikut pertuduhan, Mohd. Safwan telah mencuri 12 peket coklat jenama Cadbury sekitar pukul 9.15 malam, 20 Januari lalu di sebuah kedai serbaneka di Pasar Seni di sini. Timbalan Pendakwa Raya, Amritpreet Kaur Randhawa mencadangkan hukuman setimpal dikenakan terhadap tertuduh sebagai pengajaran.“Saya mencuri coklat itu untuk dihadiahkan sempena hari lahir adik. Saya insaf dan berjanji tidak akan mengulangi kesalahan itu lagi. Dimohon agar mahkamah mengenakan hukuman yang paling ringan,” katanya.
