Mohd. Yaseer Yazid, 41, pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court in Kuala Lumpur today to a charge of possessing a motorcycle that was not his, last month. He was charged with possessing a red-black Yamaha 135 LC motorcycle whose chassis and engine numbers were erased. The alleged offence took place at 11 pm on December 29, last year, at Taman Kobena, Cheras. The charge was brought under Section 29(1) of the Minor Offences Act and can be punished under the same section, which carries a maximum fine of RM1,000 or imprisonment for up to a year or both, if found guilty.

Mengikut pertuduhan, Mohd. Yaseer didapati memiliki sebuah motosikal jenis Yamaha 135 LC berwarna merah kehitaman di mana nombor casis dan nombor enjin kenderaan tersebut telah dikikis. Pertuduhan dikemukakan di bawah Seksyen 29 Akta Kesalahan Kecil dan boleh dihukum di bawah seksyen sama yang membawa hukuman denda maksimum RM1,000 atau penjara maksimum setahun atau kedua-duanya sekali, jika sabit kesalahan.
Bagaimanapun, peguam daripada Yayasan Bantuan Guaman Kebangsaan , Mai Elizabeth yang mewakili tertuduh memohon pengurangan jumlah wang jamin atas alasan anak guamnya masih menganggur.
