LABUAN: Labuan’s first 10MWac large scale solar plant has commenced its commercial operations (COD) early this month, substantially improving Sabah and Labuan’s power grid electricity reserve margin and easing load-shedding for some areas within the grid.
LABUAN: Labuan’s first 10MWac large scale solar plant has commenced its commercial operations early this month, substantially improving Sabah and Labuan’s power grid electricity reserve margin and easing load-shedding for some areas within the grid.
Located in Kg Bukit Kallam, the development of this 10MWac LSS plant spans about 32 acres and the facility houses an array of over 22,000 bi-facial solar panels mounted on single-axis solar trackers, collectively harnessing the power from the sun to generate 10MWac of clean electricity.
It was awarded after Jetama and Symbior’s joint bid submission under the second round of the Malaysian Large-Scale Solar program .“Jetama is currently embarking on our first significant project to establish our presence in renewable energy, and we will continue to expand other sustainable and greener initiatives that are aligned with the Sabah Maju Jaya roadmap”, as stated by CEO of Jetama, Mr Ahmad Naim Uddang.
