Seorang suri rumah dijatuhkan hukuman denda RM8,000 di Mahkamah Majistret, di sini, hari ini, atas pertuduhan memiliki sebutir peluru jenis 9MM di hadapan sebuah premis perniagaan di daerah ini, Isnin lalu.

Bagaimanapun, Velavan mengaku tidak bersalah atas pertuduhan tersebut serta memohon untuk dibicarakan. Berdasarkan pertuduhan, telah didapati dalam milikan pasangan suami isteri berkenaan, sebutir peluru jenis 9MM berwarna keemasan jenama Luger tanpa satu lesen senjata atau permit senjata yang sah. Oleh itu tertuduh telah melakukan kesalahan di bawah Seksyen 8 Akta Senjata Api 1960 dan dibaca bersama seksyen 34 Kanun Keseksaan.
