SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Newly formed chip startup AheadComputing on Wednesday said it had raised $21.5 million in seed funding.
KUALA LUMPUR: A recent study on kidney disease found that nearly half of patients with advanced chronic kidney disease in the country lost their jobs due to their deteriorating health conditions.
"Additionally, 55.3% of the patients in this study also suffered from obesity, which is associated with various health complications that further worsen their condition," she said in a statement issued by the UKM Corporate Communications Centre here on Wednesday . "Besides health factors, education level also plays an important role in the employment opportunities of CKD patients. Studies have found that patients with higher education levels have an 81% chance of continuing to work compared to those with only a low level of education.
"For patients who are still working, the study found that they experience a work disability rate of 24.3%, and 13.3% of them have to take sick leave regularly due to the impact of this disease on their health," she said.
