The Malaysian government is planning to establish a special court for cases under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) to expedite trials. The Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, stated that this is one of three key improvements being studied by the government for Sosma. Other improvements include reviewing the schedule of offenses that cannot be guaranteed bail and considering the establishment of a special court similar to the corruption court.\A special committee will be formed to study the proposed amendments to Sosma.
