PETALING JAYA: Team spirit could play a big part whether Malaysia make it out of their group at the World Junior Championships in Santander, Spain which kicks off today.
Malaysia face a huge battle with top seeds and defending champions Indonesia in Group A to determine which team qualify for the knockout rounds.Malaysia will open their campaign against the Swedes today and Latvia tomorrow before the crucial clash against Indonesia.
The players had been buoyed by a team bonding session organised by the Badminton Association of Malaysia before the world meet. Malaysia will be banking on Justin to deliver along with men’s doubles pair Fazriq Razif-Wong Vin Sean or Bryan-Choi Jian Sheng.The last and only time Malaysia won gold in the team event was in 2011.
