Malaysia recorded 2,231 new Covid19 infections on Friday (Oct 14), says the Health Ministry. Read more at

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Saturday that this brings the new total to 4,863,457 cases since the pandemic began.The ministry also said through its CovidNow portal that there were 1,473 recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 23,557.

Of the active cases, 95.7% or 22,547 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 4.1% of active cases or 976 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 34 warded in intensive care units throughout the country.
