PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has recorded 2,231 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Oct 15), bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4,863,457 since the pandemic began.
The Health Ministry's KKMNow portal reported that 2,225 of the new Covid-19 infections were local transmissions while six were imported cases.There are currently 23,557 active Covid-19 infections in the country, with 22,547 observing home quarantine.
Of this number, 976 Covid-19 patients , have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, with 34 warded in intensive care units .Another five fatalities were recorded, taking the Covid-19 death toll in the country to 36,415.
