Police shot and killed the suspect in the Setia City Mall shooting during a raid in Pulau Ketam.
A local man in his 30s, suspected of being involved in the recent shooting at Setia City Mall , was shot dead during a police raid early on February 18th at a hotel in Pulau Ketam . According to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, a shootout occurred between the suspect and officers from the Criminal Investigation Departments of Selangor and Bukit Aman.
The police team successfully shot the male citizen, approximately in his mid-30s, and recovered two loaded firearms from his possession. This individual had nine prior criminal records, including seven robberies and one drug-related offense, prior to the mall shooting. His body will be transported to the Port Klang jetty following the completion of the investigation.The incident at Setia City Mall took place on February 8th, around 10 pm, when the suspect fired four shots, injuring a male janitor, and escaped after holding a family hostage at gunpoint. Following this event, the suspect was on the run with a firearm. The police have emphasized that their preparedness remains at its highest level of competence. This case highlights the ongoing concerns regarding firearm safety and the need for effective law enforcement measures to address criminal activities.
