Anthony Albanese has declared a failed Voice to Parliament 'doesn’t show the maturity of us as a nation' as the referendum takes centre stage on Australia Day.

Mr Albanese held a brief press conference between Australia Day duties in Canberra on Thursday where he was asked whether he intended to change the date of the January 26th public holiday.

"No, I have no proposal. I have one major change that I want," the Prime Minister said, before turning his focus to his government's Voice proposal.
