The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with national tower running athlete Soh Wai Ching to promote the city to the global community. Through the agreement, MBPJ provides a sponsorship of RM75,000 to Soh Wai Ching to continue his participation at the international level and support his mission to reclaim the world number one ranking in 2025. The sponsorship aims to help him achieve championships and enhance Malaysia's, particularly Petaling Jaya's, reputation on the world stage. The MoU seeks to promote Petaling Jaya as a Smart, Sustainable and Resilient city and establish it as a tourist destination offering attractions, diverse food options, and amenities to visitors ahead of Selangor's Visit Year 2025.
PETALING JAYA: Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya memeterai Memorandum Persefahaman dengan atlet larian menara negara, Soh Wai Ching bagi mempromosi bandar raya ini kepada masyarakat dunia.
Tujuan MoU diadakan adalah untuk mempromosikan Petaling Jaya sebagai sebuah bandar raya yang Pintar, Mampan dan Berdaya Tahan dan pada masa sama menjadikan bandar raya Petaling Jaya sebagai sebuah destinasi pelancongan yang boleh dilawati oleh pengunjung seluruh dunia yang menyediakan lokasi-lokasi pelancongan menarik, kepelbagaian jenis makanan dan kemudahan-kemudahan lain kepada pengunjung sempena Tahun Melawat Selangor 2025.
Beliau juga akan menghadiri serta menyampaikan tiga sesi ceramah motivasi anjuran MBPJ di sekolah sekitar Petaling Jaya. Terdahulu, pada 28 Februari 2024, MBPJ telah menandatangani perjanjian penajaan bernilai RM75,000 dengan Wai Ching bagi menyokong penyertaannya dalam kejohanan larian menara di seluruh dunia dari 1 Januari 2024 hingga 31 Disember 2024.
