Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and three other MPs requested to be observers in Najib's appeal against a High Court decision rejecting his application for judicial review of the Titah Adendum.
PAS Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan requested to be an observer lawyer in Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's appeal to initiate judicial review proceedings regarding the Titah Adendum. His request was joined by three other Members of Parliament: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, PAS Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, and Bersatu Deputy President Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee.
The matter was seriously raised in Parliament, particularly in the Dewan Rakyat, on December 10, 2024. During the Prime Minister's Question Time (PMQ) on the Titah Adendum, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that he could not explain the issue in Parliament on the grounds of sub judice. 'The understanding we have from the government is for us to come (to court) to understand this issue, so we are applying to be observers in these proceedings,' he said. The proceedings were heard by a panel of three judges comprising Judge Datuk Azizah Nawawi, Datuk Azhahari Kamal Ramli, and Datuk Seri Mohd Firuz Jaffril. Najib is appealing against the Kuala Lumpur High Court's decision on July 3 last year, which rejected his application for leave for judicial review of the Titah Adendum, which he claimed was granted by the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Najib alleges that the Titah Adendum will allow him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest. High Court Judge Datuk Amarjeet Singh ruled that the four affidavits supporting his claim, including statements from UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Deputy President, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, could not be accepted because they were mere hearsay. Najib applied for a writ of mandamus to compel the respondents to answer and confirm the existence of the Titah Adendum dated January 29 last year
