The GoKL free bus service in Kuala Lumpur will see three more routes requiring fare payment from non-Malaysian users starting January 2025. Payment will be cashless via Touch 'n Go cards, QR codes, or credit/debit cards. Children aged 12 and younger will continue to ride free.

Starting in January 2025, three more routes of the GoKL free bus service will require non-Malaysian users to pay a fare. This follows the implementation of fare collection on four routes – 01 (Green), 02 (Purple), 03 (Red), and 04 (Blue) beginning January. The additional routes affected are Route 05 (Orange), Route 06 (Pink), and Route 08 (Maroon).

Non-citizens will be charged RM1 per journey, with payment accepted only through cashless methods, including Touch ‘n Go cards, QR codes, or credit and debit cards. Malaysians holding a MyKad linked to the Touch ‘n Go system will continue to enjoy free rides. However, each user's MyKad needs to be registered to retain this benefit. GoKL services will remain free of charge for all children aged 12 and younger, regardless of citizenship. MyKad registration for this purpose began on December 15th and can be carried out at various locations, including Hentian Akhir Titiwangsa, Universiti LRT Station (East), and Hentian One Maxim from 7am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm (Monday to Friday). An additional registration counter is set up at Jabatan Pengangkutan Bandar, Menara DBKL 2 from 9am to 12pm, and from 2pm to 4pm (Monday to Friday)
