A Malaysian man sparked debate online after calmly eating fried chicken beside a vegan activist demonstrating animal slaughter in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. While some praised his defiance, others criticized his actions as rude. The man later explained his intentions, stating he felt it was inappropriate to publicly engage with the vegan ideology and that he didn't want to distract Malaysians from their own culture.

A group of vegan activists was spotted in Bukit Bintang, KL, and one of them, who was in a Guy Fawkes Mask held up a screen, showing the process of slaughtering animals.

While social media users who did not agree with the veganism ideology praised Jack for what he did, others deemed his actions “rude”. “It’s 2025. We have gained independence for 68 years now, and you still find it appropriate to bring in the Western ideology. You’ve come to the wrong place.” Jack has since removed the initial video but has given WORLD OF BUZZ consent to write about the matter, which took place on January 18, 2025.
