The Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok is working with Thai authorities to locate a missing Malaysian man named Andy Jee Ying Kit, who was last reported in Bangkok on January 8th. His family and the embassy are seeking public assistance in finding him.
The Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok is actively collaborating with Thai authorities to locate a Malaysian man who has been missing since last week. Andy Jee Ying Kit, a 30-year-old from Sarawak, arrived in Bangkok on January 8th. His disappearance was first noticed when he failed to return to work in Singapore on January 15th as scheduled. His cousin, who lives in Singapore, posted on social media seeking public assistance after Andy's phone was disconnected, raising concerns about his well-being.
Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of Malaysia to Thailand, Bong Yik Jui, stated that his team is working closely with Andy's family and Thai authorities to find him. The embassy's consular section has obtained Andy's police report and passport details to aid in the search. Bong emphasized that the Thai authorities may require additional time to verify Andy's entry record and investigate his disappearance within Thailand. The embassy has contacted Andy's cousin, who provided information about his trip to Bangkok based on communication with Andy's friend. Bong acknowledged that the Thai authorities may need more time to complete their investigation, depending on the information provided by Andy's family. The Malaysian Embassy remains committed to assisting in the search for Andy and is urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact them immediately.
