Malaysia's inflation rate eased to 1.7% in December 2024, driven by slower increases in major groups such as personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services. However, inflation in restaurants and accommodation services, as well as food and beverages, rose at a faster pace.
PETALING JAYA: Inflasi Malaysia menyederhana kepada 1.7 peratus pada Disember 2024 dengan mata indeks mencatatkan 133.4 berbanding 131.2 pada bulan yang sama tahun sebelumnya, menurut Jabatan Perangkaan.
Namun, inflasi restoran dan perkhidmatan penginapan, serta makanan dan minuman masing-masing meningkat pada kadar lebih tinggi iaitu 2.9 peratus dan 2.7 peratus berbanding 2.8 peratus dan 2.6 peratus pada November 2024. “Ini disebabkan oleh penurunan inflasi subkumpulan utama perkhidmatan maklumat dan komunikasi pada negatif 6.4 peratus .“Sementara itu, perumahan, air, elektrik, gas & bahan api lain , pendidikan , minuman alkohol dan tembakau , insurans dan perkhidmatan kewangan dan pengangkutan meningkat pada kadar yang sama seperti bulan sebelumnya,” katanya dalam kenyataan.
