The Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation (MISIF) is calling on the government to take immediate action to mitigate the impact of a 25% tariff on steel and aluminium imports to the United States. MISIF warns that without intervention, Malaysian steel producers will face long-term and irreparable damage. The tariff, announced by US President Donald Trump, is part of a broader strategy to reshape international trade relations and will come into effect on March 4th without exemptions for any country.
