Flood evacuees in Sabah and Sarawak, Malaysia, saw a decrease in numbers over the weekend. However, the Malaysian government ensured that no Malaysians were harmed in the Brussels shooting incidents.

The number of flood evacuees in Sabah , Malaysia, decreased slightly to 695 from 189 families on Saturday, February 8, morning, compared to 700 from 190 families on Friday, February 7, night. The State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that 275 people (83 families) were taking shelter at three relief centers in Beaufort, 276 people (70 families) at two centers in Kinabatangan, 132 people (32 families) at two centers in Keningau, and 12 people from four families in Tambunan.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the number of flood evacuees continued to decline to 3,921 as of 8 am on Saturday, compared to 4,065 on Friday night, with 21 relief centers still operational. The State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat stated that the number of evacuees in the Bintulu Division had decreased to 1,868, down from 1,873 previously, all housed at five relief centers. In Sibu, the number also fell to 983 at six relief centers, compared to 1,114 on Friday night.In Miri, the number of evacuees at five relief centers dropped to 443 from 452, while the Mukah Division saw a slight increase to 614 from 613 at four centers. The Malaysian government confirmed that no Malaysians were affected in the recent shooting incidents in Brussels
