Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) reported that the country's official international reserves amounted to US$116.22 billion, with an additional US$4.5 million in other foreign exchange assets, at the end of December 2024. The central bank also identified projected short-term outflows for foreign currency loans, securities, and deposits totaling US$10.59 billion over the next 12 months. It stated that the net forward position stood at US$29.22 billion as of December 2024, reflecting the management of short-term liquidity in the ringgit market.
