Malaysia and Uzbekistan have been urged to strengthen their bilateral trade and investment ties, particularly in sectors like food technology, agriculture, semiconductors, green energy, and electric vehicles. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, speaking at the Malaysia-Uzbekistan Business Forum, emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across all fields, with a particular focus on halal industries and education, especially higher education.
Anwar highlighted the need for consistent progress reporting and mutual trust between the two nations. He stressed that this collaboration can only flourish when both countries demonstrate strength, respect, and commitment to each other's well-being. He noted that Uzbekistan has extended an invitation to Petronas, Malaysia's national oil and gas company, to participate in its oil and gas endeavors. The Prime Minister underscored the benefits of Malaysia and Uzbekistan complementing each other's strengths to overcome limitations and leverage economic fundamentals. He emphasized that no single entity possesses all the expertise, advocating for collaborative efforts to benefit both nations. Anwar assured that both countries' leaders have provided a clear roadmap and commitment to guide this intensified partnership, urging all ministries and major companies, both government-linked and private, to actively engage in this endeavor
