RapidKL announced the implementation of a Women's Coach on the LRT Ampang/Sri Petaling line, starting December 31, 2024, similar to KTMB and MRT's existing initiatives. While aimed at providing a safe and comfortable space for women, the announcement sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users supported the idea while others expressed concerns about potential misuse and called for additional measures like designated coaches for men and increased fares for the Women's Coach.
LRT will soon implement a Women’s Coach, very similar to KTMB and MRT ’s Women’s Coach, as a shelter for the ladies during their travels.
One user said, “RapidKL, please educate the women to fill the Women’s Coach first before using other coaches. This will allow the men to board the train during rush hour.” Another said, “Do you have a designated coach for men?” Another user hinted at the possibility of women becoming more self-centred after the Women’s Coach is implemented.
