Investigations into KK Mart's sale of Sandwich Ham & Cheese products, suspected of using a halal logo without authorization, have revealed no porcine DNA in the sandwiches. Despite this, the company will face action for using the halal logo without JAKIM approval. The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) emphasized the seriousness of halal logo matters and vowed to take necessary action against any violations. The company, Shake And Bake Cafe Sdn Bhd, claimed their ingredients were halal-certified, and authorities conducted investigations on January 10th.

Menteri Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali menjelaskan bahawa laporan rasmi telah mengesahkan bahawa tiada bahan terlarang dalam makanan tersebut. Isu Logo Halal Tidak Boleh Dipandang Remeh Walau bagaimanapun, syarikat pengeluar sandwic terbabit masih dikenakan tindakan oleh kerana menggunakan logo halal tanpa mendapat kelulusan terlebih dahulu dari pihak Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia .
Beliau turut memberi peringatan kepada peniaga agar mematuhi peraturan penggunaannya serta menasihati pengguna agar menyemak status halal sesebuah makanan sebelum membuat pembelian. Peka dengan perkara tersebut, Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia dalam satu kenyataan di Facebook juga menafikan dakwaan produk Sandwich Ham dan Cheese yang tular itu mempunyai sijil halal.
