Thousands of Woolworths customers are furious after the supermarket chain revealed three major changes coming to its Everyday Extra Rewards program in the coming months.

The supermarket giant announced three benefits from the paid subscription service would be changed by July in a bid to provide better value to members.

Under the new conditions, Everyday Extra members will no longer be able to claim the 10 per cent monthly Extra Discount online, with the option to claim the discount only available in-store at Woolworths and Big W outlets.Everyday Rewards Points on every shop will also be cut down to 2X points per shop instead of the previous allowance of 3X the amount, while the subscription fee currently priced at $59 a year will be hiked up to $70 annually.

“We know the vast majority of Everyday Extra subscribers are redeeming their 10 per cent discount in store and in order to streamline the offering, we have made the decision to make the 10 per cent discount only available in store.”The spokesperson said the rewards program helped customers cut down hundreds of dollars in bills every year by taking advantage of both points and special offers.
