i-City's SkyCity Tower, a 600-meter glass slide, has attracted attention for its spectacular light show at night and stunning views. However, the slide has been met with safety concerns after videos surfaced showing cracks and a floating device falling on a visitor. Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) revealed that the slide lacks operating permits and issued a stop-work notice during construction, which was ignored. As a result, i-City was fined on November 14, 2024, for operating without authorization. The MBSA insists that the slide must cease operation until proper permits are obtained.
