PETALING JAYA: Another temporary relief centre for flood evacuees has opened at SK Ayer Hitam to cater to the increasing number of victims there over the last two days, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Ayer Hitam MP visited the newly opened relief centre on Sunday morning to meet with the evacuees and find out their needs."The number of victims is expected to rise again.

"Currently, the number of flood victims has reached 5,000 in the Ayer Hitam constituency and they have been evacuated and relocated across 22 relief centres," the MCA president said. As at noon Sunday, the number of flood victims in Johor stood at 46,742 in 264 relief centres, with the largest number of evacuees located in Batu Pahat with 15,915.
