TUARAN: The Ministry of Education is closely monitoring the progress of a case involving a Year 5 student who was allegedly beaten by a teacher, which is currently under investigation by the authorities. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the ministry will continue to monitor the case until its conclusion. She said the ministry has fully entrusted the police to conduct an investigation into the case of Amirul Akil Mohd.

Izzat Emir, 12, who was allegedly beaten by a teacher in his classroom, resulting in injuries. \'This case is under the purview of the authorities and I think when it reaches the level of the authorities, we leave the full investigation to them. However, we will always be ready to assist in the investigation,' she said after the Sabah State Education Leadership Gathering at Sian Kok High School Auditorium today. \She commented on the case of a student who was allegedly beaten by a teacher in Perak on December 10 last year. Currently, the ministry is focusing on counseling the student and his family. According to Fadhlina, the ministry has also issued a warning to all teachers to exercise caution in dealing with children to prevent any physical injuries. It is clear that the school and the teachers involved have been required to cooperate throughout the investigation period. Last Thursday, PDRM announced that it had opened an investigation file regarding the case of a Year 5 student who suffered injuries as a result of being beaten by a male teacher at a primary school in Bagan Serai, Perak in December last year. – UTUSA
