PETALING JAYA: A total of 138 schools in Selangor will be closed on Tuesday (Sept 17) due to the ongoing haze situation.
In a statement on Monday night, the Education Ministry said it had received a report that the closure would affect 179,843 students from 138 schools in the districts of Sepang, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Klang and Petaling Perdana.
"School authorities are reminded to follow the standard operating procedures that has been set and to prioritise the health of the students and teachers at all times," the Ministry said in a statement.Air quality was at"very unhealthy" levels early today in Putrajaya, Johan Setia in Klang, Selangor, and Sri Aman, Samarahan and Kuching in Sarawak.reading of between 0 and 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 , 101 to 200 , 201 to 300 and above 300 .
