Young man's body recovered from Queensland dam
A search and rescue operation began last night after reports the Miles resident fell overboard off a boat at Glenlyon Dam, about 200 kilometres south of Toowoomba, about 5:30pm Sunday.
Royal Lifesaving Society Australia said nationally, an average of 92 people died each year in rivers, creeks, lakes and dams. She said underwater obstructions such as trees that have washed into the waterway may not be visible.Ms Lawton said men accounted for up 80 per cent of all drownings recorded in Australia in the past decade.
