This is in line with the national government’s goal of bridging the digital divide. The latest free Wi-Fi site was installed at Sto. Niño Elementary School in Paombong, Bulacan.
“Public schools and state universities and colleges are places that are of high priority for the rollout of free Wi-Fi sites,” said DICT on Friday. DICT Undersecretary and Spokesperson Anna Mae Lamentillo in December 2022 said the agency is working on the establishment of free Wi-Fi sites in the country, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
