PETALING JAYA: The government has reaffirmed that any policy formulation must prioritise national unity and receive Cabinet approval, following concerns over proposed guidelines for Muslims attending non-Muslim festivities and funerals.
“The Cabinet emphasised that any policy must take national unity into account and obtain prior approval before being implemented,” they said. Earlier, the Cabinet agreed that the Malaysian Islamic Development Department could offer advice to Muslims on safeguarding their faith concerning participation in non-Muslim celebrations and events.
