KUALA LUMPUR: Persatuan Badminton Malaysia menaruh harapan tinggi terhadap pelantikan Herry Iman Pierngadi sebagai ketua jurulatih beregu lelaki negara yang baharu selepas Tan Bin Shen memutuskan untuk berkelana ke Hong Kong, Februari depan.
Rexy yang mengenali Herry sejak bermain di kelab Bimantara Tangkas, Jakarta, Indonesia dengan yakin berkata, jurulatih berusia 62 tahun itu mampu membawa beregu lelaki negara menjadi pemain berkelas dunia sekali gus membawa pingat emas pertama Olimpik negara di Los Angeles 2028. “Jadi mengenai pengalamannya sebagai jurulatih, saya rasa tiada keraguan. Beliau ada sebut untuk membantu Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik dan saya berkata ini pengalamannya yang perlu diterjemahkan.
Terdahulu, Herry yang sebelum ini berkhidmat untuk Persatuan Bulutangkis Seluruh Indonesia selama 25 tahun dipilih oleh BAM untuk menggalas tugas tersebut bermula 1 Februari ini.
