Prosecutors allege that Sum, while driving a Mercedes-Benz on the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE), collided with motorcyclist Muhammad Nur’Faiz Saini, causing severe injuries.
Sum is accused of continuing to drive towards Wangsa Maju without stopping, eventually causing the vehicle to catch fire at KM18.1 of the SPE. If convicted, he faces up to five years in jail, a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000, and a minimum five-year driving ban. The magistrate set bail at RM6,000 with one surety and scheduled the next hearing for February 24
